Aspen Group Applauds Clients for National Honors
FRANKFORT, Ill. – November 17, 2008 – The creative designs and building expertise of local church design/build company, Aspen Group, assisted three client churches in winning honors at the 2008 Solomon Awards presented at the Worship Facilities Expo (WFX) in Houston. This is the second year churches designed and built by Aspen Group have won.
“We are deeply committed to learning how the alignment of culture, ministry, leadership, and facilities can enhance church ministry,” said Ed Bahler, CEO of Aspen Group. “It is very exciting to see that learning makes a difference in the design and construction process for our clients. We are honored to have three of those churches recognized nationally.”
The Solomon Awards (formerly the House of Worship Awards) recognize church teams and individuals across the nation for their excellence in church growth, management, and production. Twelve categories give churches of all sizes the unique opportunity to share their achievements with WFX attendees and the readers of Church Production Magazine and Worship Facilities magazine.
LaGrange Bible Church, LaGrange, Ill. won Best Church Design: Renovation Project. LaGrange Bible Church desired to bring their youth back on-site from the rented facility down the road. In the design process the building team created a new front entrance which improved the curb appeal of the church and allows the elderly and handicapped easier access to programming.
Moraine Bible Church, Palos Heights, Ill. also won the Best Church Design: Renovation Project award. Resonating with recent Cornerstone Knowledge Network research, Moraine Valley Church in Palos Heights, Ill. improved the two favorite spaces of the recently unchurched: the sanctuary and connecting space. Their remodeled worship space aligns better with the congregation’s contemporary style. A new addition provides a full café and soft seating.
Hamilton Hills Church, Fishers, Ind. won the award in the Best Church Design: Expansion Project category. Needing dynamic space to match their children’s ministries, Hamilton Hills Baptist Church (Fishers, IN) partnered with Aspen Group to create a new Children’s Wing complete with life-sized “Lite Brite” star-shaped kiosks, murals with twinkle lights, curved walls and soffits, and a ceiling with lit constellations and even a shooting star.
