American Lutheran Church
Bourbonnais, Illinois
This church had an older facility that was outdated, not ADA compliant and lacked sufficient parking. Rather than attempt to fix all of that, they sold the building and decided to relocate to a residential area in nearby Bourbonnais.
To help them turn this vision into reality, they turned to Aspen Group.
The church wanted a new facility that was attractive and inviting to their new neighbors. They also desired an exterior that clearly said “church”. The resulting Aspen Group design is a clean, fresh interpretation of traditional church architecture.
A large glass tower in front includes a 22-foot cross. Throughout the building, an abundance of windows pull in natural light. Exterior finishes are a pleasing combination of split face cmu block, brick veneer & eifs detailing.
The new location provides convenient access for newcomers and provides a park-like atmosphere with space for future ball fields. The church plans to use their new facility to reach out to the surrounding community.
This 11,300 square foot facility was completed in June 2006.
