Grandview Church of the Brethren
For more than 100 years, Grandview Church of the Brethren was ministering in a facility along State Road 13 near Pendleton until the area became populated with warehouse distribution developments, isolating them from the people of the community.
The members of Grandview worked with a developer that sold them several lots, less than a mile south of their old site, situated at the entrance of a brand new housing development.
The new 12,000 square foot building has a traditional feel that the Aspen design team worked out through extensive programming and master planning with the Grandview building committee. A large arched window that faces the main road is incorporated into a bell tower-like extension that also has an ornate lighted steeple.
The sanctuary also has a traditional feel but has been designed with flexibility for multipurpose activities. Future plans include a dedicated sanctuary, so this space will be adapted to a full time fellowship hall.
