Connecting with the community has always been a focus for Living Water. That was the driving motivator behind an addition to their original building in the 1990s, and they've been blessed. So blessed, that they found themselves in need of more ministry space, more parking and room for future expansion. To assess their ministry direction and craft a facility to enhance it, they again turned to Aspen Group.

Living Water’s new 43,000 square foot home is on a piece of prime real estate in the rapidly expanding community of Bolingbrook. Aspen Group designed the facility to help the church intentionally reach into this community as well as complement surrounding upscale retail buildings. The exterior of the new church facility has a welcoming community-center feel with a striking two-story glassed entrance to a large lobby that includes two gathering points: a fireplace and a 17’ high water wall with a built-in baptistry. The lobby has a relaxing atmosphere conducive to fellowship.

Almost the entire building is multipurpose with flexible walls, stackable seating, and finishes that allow for multiple ministries to occur within a single space. This delivers maximum ministry support for the funds spent. It’s a design approach that provides flexibility and good stewardship.

Like most growing churches, Living Water places a high priority on children. Aspen Group designed a two-story indoor play space, themed classrooms and an auditorium specially designed for little people. Access to the area is through a secure check-in. The older youth get a standalone facility with a full size, multipurpose gym.

The main 800-seat auditorium is designed to enhance the dynamic worship and drama ministries of the church. It includes a state-of-the-art audio/visual system, production suite, back stage area, and green room.

Living Water’s slogan is “Real people knowing, experiencing, and serving a real God.” With this new facility, we anticipate many more “real people” being impacted with the gospel message.
