Puritan Baptist Church

Indianapolis, Indiana

The church’s original sanctuary, built in 1950, seated just 150. “In the last few years, our congregation has grown from about 60 to more than 475,” said David Duncan, building committee chair. “Getting more room was important.” This 8,300 square foot split-face block addition includes a new sanctuary, entrance and lobby. The new sanctuary includes a 100-seat balcony and space on the pulpit for a 100-member choir. The current sanctuary will be converted to a multipurpose community room. The church is in an old city residential block, so Aspen Group’s architects made sure the addition would blend well with the original building and the neighborhood.
