Rock Prairie Baptist Church Sanctuary Addition

Tipton, Indiana

Rock Prairie Baptist Church, a dynamic and growing church in Tipton, Indiana, chose to partner with Aspen Group for the expansion and renovation of their facility, a 1950s school building. After doubling in size within three years, the church had outgrown their worship space (the school’s gym), and desired to build a dedicated worship center. Aspen took on the challenge of designing a functional, but attractive space that would meet the church’s needs, accommodate growth, and fit a conservative budget. The result was an economical design that aligned with the church’s DNA.

The new 9,800- square-foot worship center addition seats 550 and features a cry room, a video room, a large platform with baptistery, and enhanced audio/video/lighting capabilities that will support their drama and choir ministries. Renovation of the old gymnasium into a large commons area, which directly connects to the new worship center, includes five clerestory windows, bringing in natural light and giving the room a fresh appearance. Addition of a new vestibule and covered entry enhances circulation, accessibility, and convenience.

This newly designed and renovated space provides Rock Prairie a functional, inviting place to worship and room to grow, while enabling them to continue to pursue their mission to: “Seek to glorify God by growing in the Word of God, loving our neighbors as ourselves and reaching the lost.”
