Trinity Baptist Church Addition
Westfield, Indiana
Trinity Baptist Church in Westfield, IN partnered with Aspen Group to expand and remodel their existing facility to meet the needs of their growing congregation. The church desired to add fellowship space, classrooms and a kitchen that would align with their church culture and enhance ministry.
The new 6600 square foot addition, named The Timothy Center, includes a spacious commons area that is now bustling on Sunday mornings with people gathering after the service in fellowship. Expansive widows on the north side of the space provide warm sunlight and a beautiful view of their wooded site. Parents are enjoying having the new outdoor children’s playground in clear view from inside the commons area, so they can keep an eye on their children as they fellowship with other adults. The windows have also created a buzz in the community, as those passing by get a “peek” into the church from the road, seeing the activity and life of the church.
Pastor Brenneman refers to the new addition as “Swiss Army Knife” space because of the operable walls that offer many options for configuring the space and the flexibility for setting up both small and large group activities. With all operable walls in place, there are six individual classrooms plus the commons area. When all the operable walls are “open”, it provides a 3500 square foot area for big church events or meals. “No matter how the ministry space is set up,” shared Pastor Brenneman, “It looks like that is the way it was designed to be.”
The new kitchen is conveniently located near the gathering area and has a pass-through serving window for easy accessibility. Updates to the existing sanctuary and foyer were also part of this project, including a beautiful new reception area to greet attendees and guests, and an information desk near the commons area with literature on various ministries.
The new space has truly been a blessing to the church and has been a catalyst for ministry growth. Pastor Brenneman shared, “Aspen helped us build ministry space that complimented and enhanced the vision of our church, which is: Worship God. Connect with Others. Grow Deeper. Reach the World.”
