Studio Administrative Coordinator
I grew up in ministry but graduated as an architect from Tec de Monterrey, Mexico. I came to the United States for a two-month church internship during the summer of 2016. I went back to Mexico to pack my bags and returned to work at the same church that fall. I met my husband there, and we got married 18 months later.
I discovered Aspen’s website in February of 2018 and went crazy over the fact that such a company existed. After learning Aspen was just miles from home, I couldn’t help but dream about working here one day.
In September 2018, I became a Studio Admin Coordinator for one of our design studios. I make sure all the pieces of our projects work together—communication is accurate between team members and clients, logistics are taken care of (meetings, agendas, updated documents and contracts), and our relationships with trade partners and clients are transparent and built on trust.
The Most Rewarding Aspect of My Job:
I love the fact that everyone lives the company’s values. Coming to work every day knowing that I can share the following eight hours with people who work hard and have a great attitude inspires me even more to do my job. I always feel encouraged to expand my role outside of what is expected and bring my best to the team.
The most rewarding aspect of this is that no matter how big or small our contribution is in a project, the impact it has for the Kingdom of God is everlasting. I think one day in heaven we will be able to see how many souls were impacted because a ministry we had the blessing to partner with had the ability to reach out to them through the facilities that allowed it.
Outside of the Office:
I love to sing. I try so hard not to sing out loud in the office when I walk around or listen to music – it’s so hard to resist! I also love drawing and calligraphy. I am involved in my church. I try my best to serve God in whatever way possible. He has done so much for me, the least I can do is give my time for His ministry.
I also love to cook and experiment with new recipes! Of course, I cook a lot of Mexican (which is just “food” for me). I love my family. They all live in Mexico, and I miss them so much, so I try to talk to them on an almost-daily basis. I also love spending time with my husband and doing anything with him; he makes me laugh like no one else. And as a designer, I love shopping for home décor and making our apartment look as cozy and stylish as we can.
