Senior Landscape Architect

I joined Aspen Group in 2019 as a Senior Landscape Architect after years of partnering with Aspen while working at an outside agency. In this role, I do big picture planning and site development and detailed design for all things outdoors, including entries, parking lots, plazas, gathering spaces, prayer gardens, play spaces, and athletic courts and fields. Additionally, I have experience with green infrastructure, waterfronts, streetscapes, green roofs, amenity decks, and water features and fountains.

The Most Rewarding Aspect of My Job:

I’ve always enjoyed the creative and collaborative construction process—taking a dream and making it a reality. Working closely with churches and other Aspen Group professionals to literally help build the Kingdom of God gives what we do a greater purpose. The diversity of projects that we design and build also inspires me—from a church in Wisconsin that embraces its connection to the great outdoors, to a church in Michigan that has a sports outreach ministry with athletic fields, courts, and play environments, to a church in Illinois that embraced its community and is providing urban outdoor amenities for fellowship.

Outside of the Office

Family and church are big parts of my life outside of work. My darling wife, Melissa, and I have been blessed with 5 children and enjoy family life in various ways, including church and Sunday School, athletic events, yard and board games, camping, fishing, or just hanging out around a bonfire.

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8 (ESV)

Sew a thought, reap an action. Sew an action, reap a habit. Sew a habit, reap a character. Sew a character, reap a destiny.
