Senior Project Developer
Aspen Group has long been leading the way in helping churches create space that radically enhances ministry effectiveness. Few, if any other firms in our industry, are conducting the kind of primary research that Aspen does to understand if the billions of dollars spent each year on construction of ministry facilities are having any kind of positive Kingdom impact.
Aspen’s depth of understanding about the needs and nuances of church facilities is what persuaded me to join the company. I apply my 20+ years of direct experience in both design and construction, previously with Cogun in South Carolina for nine years prior to joining Aspen Group in 2015. During my time with Cogun, I worked as a project developer, nurturing relationships with church staff and seeing church building projects through from concept to construction completion. Now, as a Senior Project Developer for Aspen Group, I put my experience with churches to work in ensuring a smooth design, build, and furnish process for Aspen’s projects in the Southeast states.
Aspen’s understanding of the impact of culture, leadership, ministry, and facilities based on their continual research is a huge opportunity to me in assisting churches with facility planning, design, and construction. It’s an exciting time to be part of Aspen.
The Most Rewarding Aspect of My Job
Simply the idea that what we do has the potential for such eternal impact.
Outside of the Office
My wife and I enjoy spending time with our five children, the youngest, twin teenage boys. We live in a unique place, on St. Helena Island in South Carolina, so we enjoy all things outdoors including the boys’ sports, but also boating, fishing, beach exploring, golf, and whatever other activities the kids are engaged in. My family recently started a tradition of gathering the entire family—including the older kids who are grown and gone—for a get-together at our house at least once a year in autumn.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
