Day One: First Baptist Church of Greensburg Greensburg, Indiana
First Baptist Church of Greensburg was lacking a clear entry point into their building, which made it seem more like a fortress than a welcoming church extending into the community. There also wasn’t enough connecting spaces and flexible spaces for adults.
Aspen worked on this addition and renovation, designing a new entry, which eliminates confusion about where to enter the building, and provides a ramp for those who need assistance. A new, sizeable bank of windows furnishes a view into the church, and bathes the entryway in light.
"I think one of the things the renovation is going to help us do is click a little faster with people, especially if we're aiming at families as we are." –Cliff Bunch, Senior Pastor, First Baptist Church
The church offices were relocated to expand the lobby, and a new library corner was added. The renovated multi-purpose fellowship hall has ample connecting space that can be used for ministries throughout the week. A new nursery and mother's room were relocated to the main level, adjacent to the adult spaces, giving parents better proximity to their children.
