Faith Church, in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a thriving faith community that has a mission to declare the glory of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. They’re committed to taking the hope, peace, and redemption of the cross to their neighborhoods, city, and the world beyond. Faith Church has a strong focus on relationships, but many of their physical spaces had not been updated in some time, creating a “tired” first impression—not the vibe they wanted to convey to newcomers.
One of the ways we helped convey Faith Church’s local and global commitment, was through a renovation of the exterior building, including a new welcome sign at the entrance that features a multi-language greeting. This dynamic art installation communicates a fresh and positive first impression—before anyone even enters the building.
“We now realize that people hang out longer after services because people have space to linger in….”
Pastor Brian Coffey, Senior Pastor
Aspen also got to work on a refresh of their lobby hub, creating an intuitive floor plan for new visitors, with clear points of interest, such as a welcome center and a bright and open café. The sizeable, two-story lobby supplies ample room for connection and even doubles as a space to host gatherings. The addition of prominent and clear signage helps to direct the congregation throughout the building.
The project included a children's ministry revamp with the creation of a family lobby, for micro-connection among families at drop-off and pick-up, and a large-group space for the children to gather. We also refreshed all of the classrooms, added a new check-in desk, and distinguished entry points, providing improved security into this wing. The adjustment of the stairs leading to the children’s ministry area resulted in better sightlines from the lobby, adding to the safety of the space.
We also renovated the office reception area, adult classrooms, and restrooms.
