Project Background:
A need to serve both the youth and the elderly led LaGrange Bible Church in LaGrange, IL to add on to their current facility. The youth department had outgrown the current building. The Jr. and Sr. High students were meeting in a nearby school gymnasium. At the other end of the age spectrum, many elderly church members were no longer able to attend church because of their inability to climb stairs in this multi-level facility.

Project Results:
Architects from Aspen Group designed an addition that includes a 4,900 square foot gym, youth cafe, and an elevator for the aged and handicapped. As an added bonus, this addition also incorporated a new front entrance for the church, dramatically improving its curb appeal. This also provided an ideal spot for a comfortable gathering space. The atrium is bathed in natural light from large windows and provides access to all parts of the existing building. Careful selection of the exterior stone and masonry provides a seamless blend from old to new. With this latest addition to their facility, LaGrange Bible is better equipped to serve the needs of their congregation and their community.
