The Bridge Church in Bradenton, Florida, exists to love people right where they are and lead them into a growing relationship with Christ. This growing faith community planned a Phase 1 renovation of their auditorium, and a Phase 2 new facility project, featuring a new lobby, connecting space, café, “family room,” kid’s wing, and small group rooms.
However, the pandemic gave them an opportunity to pivot the plan and begin with expanding their auditorium space while the demand for it was low. The church continued in-person worship for the duration of the project without missing a Sunday. For Aspen’s construction team, this meant taking a “Ministry in the Dust” approach, with a complete clean up every Friday, so volunteer teams could do a Saturday set-up, to be ready for worship on Sunday.
“We now realize that people hang out longer after services because people have space to linger in….”
Pastor Brian Coffey, Senior Pastor
The congregation that continued to worship in the space was able to see the progress first-hand, and had a sense of anticipation for the final result. When the full congregation returned to see the expanded and upgraded worship facility, their emotional response was overwhelming and there was a general excitement for what the future holds for this growing church.
“Our experience with Aspen Group has been great, not only because of the outcome, but because of the responsiveness of Pat Kase and the Aspen team, who took the time to understand our evolving ideas and needs. When we realized we had an unexpected opportunity facing us because of the pandemic, namely, to expand auditorium space while the demand for it was low, they were very agile and able to pivot quickly and successfully pull off the project according to the timeline promised.”
