Project Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Architect to manage the design and production process for multi-million-dollar ministry facility projects. This process includes coordinating consultant documents, leading client meetings, and overseeing the project team in the design and documentation of project deliverables. The ideal candidate has experience leading and mentoring project teams, has analytical problem-solving abilities, and is an extremely organized individual. This role requires exceptional leadership and a keen eye for detail. Available as fully remote US-based. 

  • Work with Architectural Project Directors and Project Developer to develop and manage the project schedule, project design, and work with team and in-house Estimator to adhere to project construction budget. Will oversee and manage the documentation process to ensure timely and profitable completion of the project. This includes all construction drawings and specifications and coordinating with consultants.
  • Monitor and direct the design team to delegate project duties and ensure feasibility of produced designs, including the architectural staff assigned, external consultants and trade partners. Integrate and coordinate all disciplines into the building project. Lead client and internal team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination.
  • Motivate and mentor the project design and development team to ensure timely and effective completion of projects, while also serving as a resource to leadership on practice issues, resource needs, and development.
  • Take extreme ownership of submitting and obtaining all zoning and permitting needed for the project from Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks on drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Address and resolve any design or documentation issues promptly and effectively.
  • Attend job site as required to stay current with construction progress and information related to duties during the construction phase of the project. Provide documentation for changes during construction phase and review and finalize submittals on a timely basis to ensure design intent is met.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior design staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Promote and foster a sense of true collaboration and teamwork within the design team, and with all project members including our Project Developers, Construction teammates, and trade partners. Fully utilize design-build-furnish teammates to their full potential, bringing them into team meetings or discussions to encourage a smooth transition into each project phase, including construction.

  • Professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited University
  • Registered Architect
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in an Architecture firm, 3 years leading projects.
  • Understanding of the church market preferred
  • Excellent communicator with relationship management skills.
  • Proven experience in producing high-quality construction drawings and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of architectural detailing, building systems, and construction methods.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong skills in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, MS Office. Willing to use/learn other platforms as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to resolve conflict while also encouraging a healthy team environment.
