An Inspiring Space For Connection at The Fields
In the heart of Mattoon, IL, The Fields Church has become a beacon of hope, embodying its mission to reach the unchurched and foster a welcoming community. With a visionary renovation, The Fields Church has created an inspiring space where faith, family, and community converge.
Aspen Group partnered with The Fields Church to maximize their existing 15,000 square foot facility, adding 1,000 sq. ft. and renovating 14,000 sq. ft. to create a harmonious and functional space. The worship area now features a convertible wall, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor worship experiences. The indoor play area, complete with a vibrant fish tank and a thrilling climbing wall, offers a unique and inviting space for children, reflecting the church’s deep commitment to families.
The exterior transformation, featuring a monumental fireplace, an inviting patio, and a dynamic outdoor play space, has revitalized the church’s presence in the community. These enhancements have turned The Fields into a central hub for local gatherings and events, drawing people in from all walks of life.
Results
A Play Space That Inspires Connection
The relocation of the children’s area to the front of the church highlights The Fields’ dedication to nurturing the next generation. This innovative indoor play space, the only one of its kind in Mattoon, has become a cherished community space, attracting families and local businesses for events, meetings, and times of connection.
Since the renovation, The Fields Church has witnessed growth in attendance, soaring from 350 to nearly 600 across two services, with the potential for even greater expansion. The church’s vision of being a beacon of hope in Mattoon is now reality, drawing people into a vibrant community where they can experience genuine connection and spiritual growth.
